The building’s penthouse and two flats are already owned by the CEO of Amazon.

In the Flatiron section of Manhattan, Jeff Bezos is adding to his collection of residential properties. He just paid $16.13 million for an additional apartment at a 24-story boutique condominium across from Madison Square Park. He already owns all four floors of the building.

On February 25, the chief executive officer of Amazon purchased the condominium at 212 Fifth Avenue through a limited liability corporation incorporated in Delaware. The deed submitted to the city on Thursday states that the transaction concluded on April 7.

Negotiations took place off the market. Property records indicate that the seller, whose identity is protected by a limited liability company, paid $11.25 million for the flat in April 2018.

According to property documents, Mr. Bezos purchased two apartments on the 21st floor and a three-story, 10,079-square-foot penthouse for a total of $80 million in May 2019 using the same LLC. This apartment is one of only two on the 20th level.

A message for comment sent through Amazon to Mr. Bezos, 56, the world’s richest man (net worth of $142 billion, according to Forbes’s real-time estimate), was not immediately answered.

With 3,078 square feet, the apartment features three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a dining and living area that seems like a loft, and a lot of gallery walls. According to a previous listing, the house includes large windows throughout, high vaulted ceilings, marble walls and counters, and radiant-heated Thassos stone floors.

The development team directed by Robert Gladstone and Joseph Sitt transformed the building from a century-old Neo-Gothic industrial structure. A 24-hour doorman, a concierge, a fitness facility with a yoga studio, a golf simulator, a screening room, a boardroom, a gaming room, and a children’s playground are among the building’s facilities.

According to sources and property records, the building’s owners are Ed Bass, a Texas millionaire; Rob Stringer, CEO of Sony Music Group; Charles Kushner, a developer and Jared Kushner’s father; and Peter Riguardi, president of Jones Lang LaSalle’s New York area.
