The Phoenix Suns centre is dubious of Draymond Green’s change of heart following his 12-game ban, despite their first meeting since the player’s hit on Jusuf Nurkić.

After the Suns’ Saturday night 113-112 loss to the Golden State Warriors, Nurkić told reporters that he was certain that Green “didn’t learn anything” during his absence and that he “doesn’t deserve a chance” to make amends.

Green said he wouldn’t “walk around quiet like him” after hearing about Nurkić’s remarks because “quiet players don’t win.”

In the first quarter of Saturday’s game, Nurkić got into a brief verbal altercation with Green because he didn’t like the way Green was supporting him.

When Nurkić made the “too little” gesture at Green and hit the court after shooting over him in the third quarter, things got out of hand.

A few minutes later, Green retaliated by slamming the court after making a scoop shot over Nurkić.

During the third quarter of the Warriors vs Suns game on December 12, there was a struggle for position between Green and Nurkić during an inbounds pass. Nurkić fell to the ground as Green swung his arm and struck him in the side of the head.

Green was given an NBA indefinite suspension as a result of the incident. Before being allowed to return, he had to fulfil a number of requirements set down by the Warriors and the league.

On January 6, the league announced that Green had been reinstated and that he had met with representatives from the NBA, NBPA, and Warriors in addition to a counsellor. It is anticipated that those cooperative gatherings would go on throughout season.

On Saturday, the Warriors emerged victorious in their matchup with Nurkić and the Suns. With 0.7 seconds remaining, Stephen Curry’s three-pointer gave Golden State a 113–112 victory. Six of the previous seven games have been won by the Warriors, including four in a row.
