Renowned car designer Henrik Fisker made several promises for his EV firm during the previous eight years, but none of them materialised. Those who work for Fisker told Surge Insights that the company’s husband and wife duo bear a huge portion of the burden, even as they search for an improbable rescue.

There was also a significant disruption in the fintech industry this week. Synapse, a fintech company that provides banking as a service, filed for bankruptcy after years of difficulties and mistakes. According to Synapse’s filings, the company’s failure may have affected up to 100 fintechs and 10 million end users.

In other significant financial actions, Google is giving Flipkart a nearly $350 million investment. The Walmart-owned Indian e-commerce business is now valued at $36 billion as a result of the fresh investment. With over 500 million users in India, Google considers the country to be a major international market.
