The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated both L’Jarius Sneed’s birthday and their 27-24 victory against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. On Sunday, the standout cornerback for the Chiefs, who was selected 138th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, turned 27. It didn’t take long for the joy around Patrick Mahomes’ first road playoff performance to fade, as it seemed the league had a surprise drug test planned.

The Chiefs punched their ticket to the AFC Championship for the sixth time in a row during the exuberant triumph. The NFL, however, had different ideas and decided to implement its policy of random drug testing. Sneed, who has experienced several “random” tests this season, vented his annoyance on X (previously Twitter).

Sneed was thrilled with the victory on his birthday and the Chiefs’ move to the AFC Championship prior to the random drug test. With the caption “BDAY DUB,” he posted a selfie video of the event on the Chiefs’ X page. “I got myself a Birthday victory,” the famous CB can be heard stating. It’s a W. Go on to the next, sweetie!

Despite defeating the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl, L’Jarius was not selected for the Pro Bowl or the All-Pro team. Regretfully, none of this has prevented the NFL from subjecting him to an HGH test.

The Divisional Round Performance of L’Jarius Sneed during Patrick Mahomes’ First Road Playoff Game

Although L’Jarius Sneed’s sudden NFL ban was disappointing, his performance in the Divisional Round was outstanding. He and the Chiefs secondary put on a strong show in the crucial game against the Buffalo Bills. Sneed alone collected 5 tackles and two additional aided tackles in the battle.

Stefon Diggs, a wide receiver with the Bills, was also limited to just three receptions for 21 yards. This was hardly shocking because Diggs only gained under 30 yards in their 3-point defeat to the Bills in Week 14. Sneed triumphantly shut down the top receiver, whom he respects in high regard.

He’s an excellent receiver. Intelligent and an excellent route runner, which is, I believe, the reason for his diligence. That’s the reason he’s been among the league’s best receivers,” Sneed stated in reference to Stefon Diggs before to kickoff.

Despite being nominated five times, L’Jarius Sneed, who shut down the Bills’ top pass catcher, hasn’t made it to the Pro Bowl. To top it all off, the Kansas City Chiefs secured a great playoffs ranking thanks to Mahomes’ first playoff road game. In a rematch on the opponent’s field, the champions of Super Bowl LVII will play the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC Championship.
